Loch Tay Young Archaeology Club

February 2018 sees the launch of Loch Tay Young Archaeologists’ Club ‘YAC’ which we are very excited about. The Club aims to get involved in demonstrations, craft activities, museum object handling, visiting and investigating archaeological sites and historical places and lots more.

Taster sessions and sign-up dates are 17th February and 3rd March from 10.00 – 12.00. The Club is open to all aged 8 – 16 years old. Membership (March to September) £48.00 or £4.00 per session.

The Young Archaeologists’ Club is part of the Council for British Archaeology who are an educational charity working throughout the UK to involve people in archaeology and to promote the appreciation and care of the historic environment for the benefit of present and future generations.

The Club, which will be led by local archaeologist and interpreter at the Centre, Richard Hiden will meet twice a month on a Saturday morning.

If you’d like to get involved with Loch Tay YAC, please get in touch with us here at the Centre in the first instance.

The Centre’s parent charity, The Scottish Trust for Underwater Archaeology (STUA registered charity number SC018418), was formed to promote research, exploration and public interpretation so having the YAC based at the Centre fulfils some of the aims and aspirations of the Trust.
