Reece’s News Entry 11

This week three apprentices travelled to West Fife to do some Coppicing.

Hello everyone Reece back again, here to deliver my eleventh entry of “Reece’s News”.

I hope all of you are well and have had a great week. Despite it being as windy as it was last week it is still nice with the sun being blindingly bright until the snow began to flutter down from the winter clouds early this afternoon. Today at the Crannog it has been a case of forwarding planning and discussing future projects but I will be discussing a few things with you all that has occurred this week.

Today, A few apprentices from the Crannog have been participating in some coppicing down in West Fife. They were using bill hook tools to strip pre-cut down hazel until the trees are branchless as shown in the photos below. The hazel that is extracted will then be used for some upcoming workshops and any other miscellaneous purposes.

That’s all from myself for now. I will be glad to return next Friday with my twelve entry of “Reece’s News” hopefully with a lot more content. As always I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe I will catch up with you all very soon.

Reece 🙂
