Opening Times & Admissions

Our opening times and admissions, tour times and gift aid.

2019 Opening times:

The crannog is now closed for the winter - please see below for 2020 opening times.

2020 Opening times:

The Centre will be open from February on limited hours from 10 a.m until 4 p.m. We currently working through our maintenance jobs to be ready for visitors so please keep an eye out for a specific opening date! Tours will run at 11 a.m and 2 p.m, or self-guided tours are available for a small donation. Shop and hot drinks are available all day. 

Our official opening date for 2020 will be in March when we will be up to speed and running full tours every day is 29th March - 31st October 2019 at 10 a.m.

What to expect!

Your visit to the Scottish Crannog Centre includes a museum, the reconstructed crannog and living history area with hands-on demonstrations of ancient crafts and technologies.  Our team of enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly Iron Age Interpreters are here to help you.

Guided Tours

Guided tours take place throughout the day. If you wish to check times before you set off please call us. 

Booking

There is no need to book unless your group is more than 12 people.  

Group Booking

If you are interested in bringing a group to the Centre, please email us at booking@crannog.co.uk or call us for further information.  

Last Tour Time - 4.15 pm (effective from 30th March until 30th October)

In order to enjoy a full tour of the centre, please ensure you arrive no later than 4.15pm.  Anyone arriving after this time may experience a shortened tour.

Standard Admissions

Adults-£10.00
Seniors-£9.00
Children-£7.00 (aged 5-16)
Students-£9.00 (17 and over)
Families-from £32.00 (2+2)

Event Admissions

Admissions for our day-time events are as above, however, we do request that you kindly make a donation for taking out log boats on event days (subject to experience and weather), participation in some of our demonstrations and workshops and for tasters of our food.  Donation boxes can be found throughout the site.  

Tickets for evening events are valid for the evening only and do not include daytime entrance to the Centre. 

Gift Aid

UK Tax Payers:  If you are a UK taxpayer, please consider Gift Aiding your admission fee, as a donation in lieu of the fee, to the Centre at no additional cost to yourself.  The process is simple, all you need to do is provide your postcode and signature on arrival!  Read more in our Donations

All Gift Aided tickets are valid for multiple returns for a period of 6 months following purchase and include entry to regular events.  However, they cannot be used for Midsummer Music on 21st June, Celts are Coming! 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th August and Celtic Samhain on 31st October. 

WiFi

There is free WiFi available to visitors.  Please ask staff for log-in details on arrival.
