Fabulous experience, brought to life by Rich. Very informative and he is obviously very passionate about his subject. Probably the most enjoyable talk on any subject that I have experienced in my many years!

A unique experience. My wife and I arrived very late in the day, but not too late for Rachel and Dirk to give us and another couple a wonderful guided tour, complete with fire-making. If you're lucky enough to be in the area, don't miss this!

Wow! What an amazing, engaging, inspired place and community. Obviously a labor of love, The Crannog Center evokes a sense of the true history of the people who lived in this beautiful, magical place. Highly recommended!

What a fabulous day out! The staff are all so friendly, interesting and knowledgeable. We visited while the ‘Ways with Wood’ event was on. As well as turning wood, we had lessons on wooden bowl and spoon making, how to start a fire using two pieces of wood, metal tool making and how to grind grain using a grinding stone. It was so cosy sitting around the hearth fire in the crannog hearing in detail about daily life during the Iron Age. A huge 'Thank you' to all of the staff.

My mum and I visited the centre on 18.5.2017. We loved the mix of practical archeology and theory. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and humorous. Thanks in particular to our guide Richard.

I'm no history fan. My husband is, especially when it comes to the Iron Age. However, Crannog absolutely won me over, it was so different from other places we've been to. It's a simple set-up, no large boring signs or drawings in the Crannog itself; you sit inside, around the hearth listening to the very engaging staff about what life was like back then and when you come out you have to blink twice to remember where you are.

i am 8 years old and enjoyed my day visiting you. I liked the being inside the crannog and all the fun activities thank you. I also liked seeing where the other two crannogs were.

We were very impressed with the presentation provided by Rick, I think. He was very engaging and answered all our questions. Great fire builder!
