We welcome school groups of all ages at the Centre where expert guides 'Inspire, Educate and Inform' through living history.
A visit where children are able to experience the sights, smells and turn their hand to ancient crafts and technologies is both unique and invaluable. They are also encouraged to dress up in Iron Age style clothing and get into the spirit of life on the loch 2,500 years ago.
Expert guides transport children back using objects and through hands-on experience enabling greater engagement and stimulation.
Our core information regarding Crannogs, life on the loch in prehistory, trading, farming and more can all be tailored to suit study modules. For further information on how to get the best from your visit, please contact us to discuss your requirements with one of our expert guides.
In addition to core activities, we are also able to offer additional activities at a nominal additional cost:
Adornment: Pendant-Making, Pouch-Making and Jewellery-making
Farming: Ploughing, Grain-Grinding, Threshing, Baking Bread
Fibres: Felting, Nettle String and Bast Rope
If you wish to book a visit to include any of these, we would be happy to discuss any questions or queries you may have.
