The Scottish Crannog Centre acknowledges the need to assist and support all local green initiatives to protect our environment.
The Centre has been a major supporter of the Ring of Breadalbane Explorer Bus since it was initiated in 2013. The hop-on hop-off bus runs regularly throughout throughout the summer and into October and was conceived and implemented through the efforts of the Breadalbane Tourism Cooperative which is made up of local businesses.
We purchase recycled and sustainable products for use thoughout the Centre via Green Tourism's database of suppliers together with our own list of green suppliers which we've built up over the years.
As far as possible, the giftshop at the Scottish Crannog Centre is stocked with locally supplied items or items from around Scotland.
We go out of our way to support local crafts people and use their expertise at our event days and sell their produce in our giftshop.
We endeavour to promote the Green Tourism Business Scheme to all businesses which whom we trade.
We ensure all Crannog staff are knowledgeable about 'green' see & do in area in order that they can pass the word to our visitors.
All staff are encouraged to walk or cycle to work. For those living a little further away, we endeavour to arrange our work schedule to accommodate 'car-sharing'.
