As testimony to our commitment to the environment, we have been awarded the Green Tourism Business Scheme Gold Award for eight consecutive years. We were also awarded the Gold Star for the Greenest Tourist Attraction in the UK and Ireland in 2013-14.
Green Tourism has been in existence since 1997 and is a not-for-profit organistion committed to promoting sustainable tourism across the UK, Ireland, Italy and Canada. Green Tourism is the largest sustainable certification programme in the world and rates businesses and organisations involved in the tourism sector on their committment to the envionment.
Green Tourism assessors have visited the Scottish Crannog Centre and assessed our green committment, envoironmental policies and practice and judged that our approach to the environment is worthy of the prestigious Gold Award. The Gold Award symbolises "Inspirational/Outstanding" practices for which we are immensely proud.
