Crannog Research Director and Founder Awarded OBE

We are thrilled and very proud to announce that Dr Nick Dixon has been awarded an OBE.

Research Director and founder of The Scottish Crannog Centre, Dr Nick Dixon has been awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for services to underwater archaeology, public engagement and the Scottish economy.
Dr Dixon said "Receiving an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List makes me very proud.  It is wonderful to know that the work we have been doing for decades is seen as of importance to the community and the country.  I thank all of the people who have supported us in the past and still in the present who have made this possible."
The award is a fitting tribute as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Scottish Crannog Centre and the year of History, Heritage and archaeology.
